Marrit Steenbergen of the Netherlands swam to a new European Record as well as a Championship Record en route to gold, touching in a 50.42. She broke the previous European Record of a 50.58 set by Sarah Sjostrom back in 2017 at the World Cup. The previous Championship Record was a 50.95 set by Ranomi Kromowidjojo in 2017.

With her win and record tonight, Steenbergen has gone four for four at the 2025 European Championships as she has won the 100 free, 200 free, 100 IM, and 200 IM in Lublin.
